The Maurach Almhütte (an utterly cosy cottage) is a MUST for nature lovers in summer and winter. At 1606m altitude, the cottage is located between mid- and summit-station of the Schlossalm cable car - with direct access to the ski-piste and various hiking trails. The heart of the downhill village is just about a twenty minute drive away. Accomodation
Relax from your daily routine at our two comfortable multi-room chalets (80 or 40 qm), offering enough space for four to eight of your loved ones, family and friends. At 80qm you will find a spacious kitchen-diner with wood stove and TV, a double-bedroom, a bedroom with 4-5 single beds and a bathroom with shower, toilet and floor heating. The 40qm chalet offers a kitchen-diner with TV and an extendable bed-couch, a double bedroom, and bathroom with shower, toilet and floor heating. Both chalets can be linked with a connecting door, combining both accommodations to comfortably house up to 16 people. The Maurachalm is open throughout the whole year, offering home made specialities and traditional tasties: Bacon, cheese, cakes, spirits (Schnaps) and other local delicacies. Experience an alpine hiking adventure of the exclusive kind, as our wonderful Maurachalm is the perfect base-camp for explorations! Let yourself sink into the marvellous nature of the surrounding Gastein mountains: The numerous walking trails and mountain bike tracks make for perfect opportunities to take in the breathtaking panorama of the Alps. Climbing at the Schlossalm and barefoot-trails offer great activities for children to experience the alpine nature and wildlife. Winter
Wax your ski’s, ready, go! You could not be closer to the ski-action than at Maurachalm. Why? Direct access to perfectly prepared pistes from the very doorstep! So you can take the first perfectly powdery carve downhill in the morning. From there the ski-areas of Bad Hofgastein/Bad Gastein (Skiverbund Amadé) offer 350 kilometres of well-cared slopes and pistes for unmatched winter sports fun. For recreation and relaxation enjoy the saunas and heated pools of the wonderful Alpentherme Gastein to recharge your batteries for the adventures to come. From the mountain station Kleine Scharte past the Hirschinger downhill to the alpine pasture in about 40 minutes or in a longer version over the Brandner Hochalm in about 1.5 hours.
