Göschenen is an ideal place for hiking in the St. Gotthard area, especially in the romantic Alpine valley of Göschneralptal. Here a life without the mountains is unimaginable. There are 5 guest-friendly Alpine club huts and many mountains famous for their good climbing conditions, such as Dammastock, Sustenhorn and Salbitschijn, which offer many possibilities for sport climbing and bouldering. The Voralptal valley is covered in endless sorts of Alpine plants.


For motorbike freaks, cyclists and lovers of automobiles there are numerous mountain pass tracks, such as St. Gotthard, Nufenen, Furka, Grimsel, Susten, Oberalp, Lukmanier, etc.

After each exciting day out you return to “your home”, to the warm welcoming comfort of Hotel zum Weissen Rössli.


Both in summer and in winter we give our best to offer our guests a hotel that is comfortable as well as equipped with all the modern conveniences one could wish for.

All the rooms have a bath or shower with WC, TV, safe, hairdryer, some have a mini bar. There is Internet connection all over the building.

Cosy common spaces, such as the Urnerstube bar, the Suwaroff breakfast room and the large dining hall.

Our hotel kitchen is lead by a true expert in his field, who will spoil you with his delicacies that vary according to the time of year.

All through the winter you can indulge in the snow-covered slopes of the Andermatt ski resort (6 km). Should you stumble upon bad weather the Airolo ski station (18 km) South of St. Gotthard is the perfect solution.


Our Roman thermal and wellness facilities are an ideal place to relax and gather strength after an exciting day on the slopes. There is a sweat cave, a steam castle, one-person sweet water whirlpools, adventure shower cabins and heated day beds.
